Here are some basic stuffs which will help you to get started and give you some idea how private trackers function.

Getting Started

Start with beginner-friendly trackers that have open signups / interviews. Build your reputation maintaining good ratios and you'll eventually get invites to elite trackers.

Be careful where you register. Do NOT rush into joining trackers without researching in prior or consulting with your friends about them.

Remember, torrenting is just a hobby. Enjoy your life outside. Private trackers are something you use after dealing with real life issues.
