Hello everyone,
Even though the weather is improving, it is with regret that we announce some difficult news: the upcoming closure of the Sharewood forest. Since its creation, the site's stability has relied on the personal investment of the administrator who financed the server. He has chosen to step down, particularly after the forced departure of a long-standing staff member with whom he was close. This puts us in a situation where we are no longer able to ensure the site's financial continuity. The question of donations might seem obvious, but this is not a direction we wish to take. We have never wanted to operate in this way, and we prefer to remain consistent with this principle.
After taking the time to discuss and consider the various possibilities, we have therefore decided that Sharewood will close on March 29th at midnight. At this stage, we have no alternative solution. Should a takeover or a serious transition be possible, you will of course be informed. However, regardless of how things develop, the current staff will not continue the project.
Until the closure:
The pending status is closed.
Uploaders can continue to share.
The site is now fully freeleech.
Hold and Re-upload (H&R) is suspended.
The goal is simply to allow you to fully enjoy access to the content and to allow everyone to keep and repost what they wish.
We know that this kind of announcement naturally raises questions. However, contacting the staff about this will not change the decision. Private messages related to this announcement will not be answered, and it is possible they will not be opened. During this period, IRC will not be used for official communication. We thank you in advance for respecting this.
The forest existed and grew thanks to you. Thank you for your presence, your sharing, and your involvement over time.
We still have a few weeks together, until March 29th.
Sadly, The Staff.
